ISRI 2022

Our team – Mike Uhrick, Mark Chazanow, Joel Dupre, Chris Chong, Matt Ellis, Bret Penninger, Blaine Bailess, George Uhrick, and Sarah Anderson – just returned from the ISRI National Convention and Expo in Las Vegas – the recycling industry’s largest event.

2022 marks the return of this amazing, in-person gathering for the first time in two years, and they had a great time networking with the 5,000+ members of the recycling community in attendance.

For four days, our booth was filled with industry folks, current consumers or suppliers, and new contacts interested in hearing more about our company. We also learned more about new innovations and equipment that’ll help us work more effectively and better serve our valued business partners.

Here’s a bit of information about ISRI (Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries) – an organization we’ve been a part of for decades:

  • ISRI is the “Voice of the Recycling Industry,” promoting safe, economically sustainable, and environmentally responsible recycling through networking, advocacy, and education.
  • It represents 1,300 companies in 19 chapters in the U.S. and more than 40 countries that process, broker, and consume scrap commodities, including metals, paper, plastics, glass, rubber, electronics, and textiles.
  • With headquarters in Washington, DC, ISRI provides education, advocacy, safety, and compliance training, and promotes public awareness of the vital role recycling plays in the U.S. economy, global trade, the environment, and sustainable development.
  • It also provides expert insight on key issues relevant to scrap recyclers and the communities we serve by providing a wide range of international, national, and local perspectives on issues such as global trade, commodity markets, and more.

We’re proud of the work we’ve done together to make Venture Metals + a leader in the recycling industry.
